About us

“The staff at Family Guidance is dedicated to our mission. They truly are ‘everyday heroes,’ going above and beyond to help the children and families we serve. You won’t find a more dedicated and well-trained staff anywhere.”
 – Garry Hammond, President/CEO, Family Guidance Center

For more than 100 years, Family Guidance Center has worked to create real change in the lives of thousands of local children and families, leading the charge in promoting mental health as an integral component of every person’s overall health.

You can see this change in classrooms across 50 schools, and you can see this change in dozens of workplaces. You can also see the results of our work in hundreds of area households as families navigate their journey to recovery from mental illness or substance use disorder.

Through innovative state-of- the-art programs, teams of behavioral health professionals are helping consumers with mental illness embrace success at home and avoid hospitalization. Families who have experienced a child’s mental illness are extending their wisdom to other families, creating strong new networks of support. We’re also working to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness across our core programs of adult mental health, children/youth services, substance use disorder, crisis intervention, and our healthcare homes program.

At Family Guidance, we believe “Today’s the Day.” We invite you to join us as we integrate treatment for behavioral health conditions into the community and the natural settings where children and adults can thrive.
